Legacy Doxies was born out of a deep love for the dachshund breed and a conviction that breeding can — and should — be done better.
What started as a family welcoming their first dachshund quickly became a calling. We fell in love with the breed’s spirited personality, fierce loyalty, and irresistible charm — and we knew we wanted to share that with other families.
After years of research, mentorship from established breeders, and an unwavering commitment to health testing, we officially established Legacy Doxies. Our mission was clear from day one: raise dachshunds the right way, or not at all.
Today, we are proud to be a small, intentional breeding program that prioritizes the wellbeing of every dog in our care. We limit our litters, health-test extensively, and personally place each puppy with a family we’ve gotten to know.
Every pup that leaves our home carries a piece of our family’s heart — and a promise that we’ll always be here for them.
We keep our program small on purpose. Each dog receives individual attention, socialization, and care — because quality will always matter more than quantity to us.
All our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing including IVDD, cardiac, and eye evaluations. We breed only dogs with clear health clearances.
Our puppies are whelped and raised right in our home — exposed to children, sounds, textures, and everyday life from day one, setting them up for confident adulthood.
